Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the force of a clutch spring and to facilitate the operation by contacting the other clutch plates under pressure utilizing the rotational torque generated on the engagement of some of a plurality of clutch plates.
CONSTITUTION: With a gear 3 rotated by an engine, a hub 2, disc 13, ball 23, hub 5, and clutch plates 11 and 15 are rotated integrally. With a clutch lever gripped and a pressure disc 17 displaced rightward, the disc 13 is also displaced rightward and the clutch plates 11 and 15 are disengaged, so that no power is transmitted to a shaft 1. With the clutch lever released, the plates 11 and 15 are engaged by the force of a spring 18, so that a rotational force is transmitted to the shaft 1. With the load on the shaft 1 increased, the revolution rate of the hub 5 is decreased, the ball 23 slips off from grooves 21 and 22, to push the disc 13 leftward and contact the plates 11 together under pressure.
