Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to show an excellent response to the disturbance, by performing a feed-forward compensation for the secondary cooling water which is subjected to feed back control, depending on the casting piece surface temperature at the entry of the casting piece passage.
CONSTITUTION: The operation circuit 34 calculates the feed forward amount depending upon the difference between the casting piece surface temperature of the entry, which is detected by the second thermometer 30 mounted at the entry of each object section. On the other hand, the differential integrated circuit 32 calculates the feed back amount as usual, depending upon the difference between the casting piece surface temperature of the delivery of the object section, which is detected by the first thermometer 12. Subsequently, the proportional operation 36 is carried out by adding the aforesaid feed forward amount to this feed back amount, its output is compared with the setting specific water amount and is output as a specific water amount, the input operation is performed to the flow rate operation circuit 20 together with the casting piece size and the casting speed 16, and the setting value of the secondary cooling water flow rate is decided. And the spray group 22 is controlled depending upon its setting value.
