Abstract

PURPOSE: To effect gas-liquid contact allowing SO2 in waste gas to be absorbed, oxidized, and fixed, by using a wet type gas treatment equipment containing absorbent liquid that is caused to circulate while forming wet wall on the internal of the gas blowing pipes.
CONSTITUTION: Waste smoke gas and oxidizing gas are charged to the top of the reaction bath 1 through the waste gas inlet pipe 2 and the oxidizing gas inlet 4, respectively. Both gases are mixed and bubbled into absorbent liquid via the gas blowing pipes 8 which extends downward from the distribution chamber 18. The blowing pipes 8 have a number of holes 9 to pass the gas through on the lower side wall. The gas jetted from the holes 9 forms layers of bubbles 15 which effect enough contact between gas and liquid allowing components in problem (SO2 gas) of the waste smoke gas to be removed by absorption and oxidation. The absorbent liquid is moved from the bottom of the reaction bath 1 by the circulation pump 2 via route 13 to the top distribution chamber 18 of the reaction bath 1, then the liquid flows down on the surface of the internal wall of the blowing pipe 8 while forming wet wall 11, where oxidation and absorption are also performed.
