Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect a damage of a drill by a method wherein an electric signal, higher than an upper-limit set value or lower than a lower-limit set value among electric signals which are originated in a boring work and are output from a vibration detector, is detected and an abnormal signal is delivered. CONSTITUTION:A main body of a multispindle boring machine is comprising a work guide 1 and a drill driving table 7 while is provided with a drill damage detecting device 10. An input side of the device 10 is connected to a high-sensitive vibration detector 11, position detectors 12 for drills 6a, 6b, 6c and the second position detector 13. An output side of the device 10 is connected to an abnormal signal generator 14. In case a detected value is out of a range between an upper-limit set value and a lower-limit set value, an abnormal signal is generated, thereby, an abnormal of a drill may be detected.
