Abstract

PURPOSE: To detect effectively the bad tape having more than two of start end markers by judging that there are two start end markers when two conditions are satisfied.
CONSTITUTION: When the tape travels more than time corresponding to the length of the start point marker, the start point marker is detected by the counter 1-1 adjusted so as to put out the overflow signal as output. Then, the counter 2 for counting the pulse corresponding to the tape travelling speed puts out the overflow signal as output when counting that the tape travels a predetermined length. This signal is put into as input AND circuit 4-3. At this time, when the two start point markers are present, also the overflow signal of the counter 1-1 is generated, so that two conditions are put into the circuit 4-3 and the output thereof are put out as a marker bad signal through FF 3-2. In this manner, except the signal due to the flaws of the tape and the like, the bad tape having two start points can be effectively detected.
