Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the title powder of high whiteness, low resistance and small grain size widely usable as electric and electronic materials by mixing a small amt. of a Sb cpd. into stannous oxalate followed by heat treatment at a temp. below the tin dioxide sintering temp.
CONSTITUTION: Stannous oxide is mixed with 0.001W2.0, pref. 0.1W0.3mol% of an antimony halide such as antimony trifluoride and calcined at a temp. below the tin dioxide sintering temp., thus obtaining electrically conductive light-blue tin dioxide powder of high whiteness doped with a small amt. of antimony pentaoxide. A higher calcining temp. produces a more favorable result, yet a temp. above 1300°C causes undesirable sintering.
