Abstract

PURPOSE: To securely measure the configuration of weld face through the alternative operation of the outputs of a plurality of detecting pieces and deviation detecting meters.
CONSTITUTION: Steel belts 1 are provided on the both sides of a detecting head 11. Said detecting head 11 is slid to weld section 2, the vertical deviation thereof is detected, thus-obtained detection signal is amplified by an amplifier 12 and transmitted directly or time-dividedly to an arithmetic section 13, and thus-obtained deviation signal is received 14 and displayed as picture by a monitor. At the same time, defective weld warning ALM is transmitted from said arithmetic section 13 when level deviation from reference value is a larger than the prescribed value thereof (e.g. 0.2 mm). Further, said detecting head 11 is provided on the trimmer 17 backward (with respect to the trimming and measurement directions indicated by arrow F) of a trimming cutter 16 and slid to said weld section 2 immediately after trimming at the same time said trimmer travels in the width direction of said steel belt 1 while cutting said weld section 2. Thus, the configuration of said weld section 2 can be measured securely.
