Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the cooling effect of a device for cooling a rotary electric machine by supporting a frame formed in cylindrical shape by a wavy thin plate by a stator and providing a cylindrical reinforcing ring on the inner peripheral surface of the frame to thereby increase the strength.
CONSTITUTION: A frame 9 is formed by bending a thermally conductive thin plate such as steel plate, aluminum plate, etc. by a plus or the like in wavy shape, and a cylindrical reinforcing ring 10 is provided in cylindrical shape between the frame 9 and a stator 8 to thereby form atmospheric and internal air pasages 91 and 42 at the wavy portion. Thus, atmospheric cooling air is passed through the passage 91 by a fan 3, and the internal air is passage through the passage 42 by a fan 4 to thereby effectively exchange the heat between the atmospheric air and the internal air so as to enhance the cooling effect and to increase the strength of the frame 9 for enabling to be durable against exploding pressure.
