Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent crack and breakage of porous body for an electrode of a battery when winding the porous body by winding three-dimensional spongy metal porous body having substantially spinning space perpendicularly to the long-diameter direction of the space. CONSTITUTION:Three-dimensional spongy metal porous body 4 has a number of pores 5, most of which form substantially spinning space having long and short diameters directing in one direction. Active substance 3 is filled in the spinning space of the porous body 4. Thus, when the porous body 4 is wound in cylindrical shape, the spinning space becomes near sphere against the elongation at the outer periphery of the porous body 4 but prevents crack and breakage of the porous body at winding time.
