Abstract

PURPOSE: To make a setting load of the recovery spring unchangeable by separating the rod, which presses one friction pad by turning the nut, from the retainer which supports the recovery spring and gives a backward rotation to the rod.
CONSTITUTION: When the nut 10 is turned with the lever 20, the rod 14 presses the back of the friction pad 5 by an action of the cam including the ball. When the force of lever is removed, the rod 14 is reversed by the recovery spring 17. The rod 14 is forcibly turned and advanced when the friction pads 4, 5 have worn, the retainer 15 is not moved in the axial direction since it is screwed to the rod 14 and the turning of callipers 3 is stopped at the end of the recovery spring 17, and only the rod is moved with respect to the retainer. Thus a setting load of the recovery spring 17 can be fixed.
