Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a fluid power transmission apparatus, in which distribution of blade thickness is varied such that sectional area of the passage of work fluid is kept substantially constant along the passage, whereby it is enabled to minimize flow loss of work fluid and thus to improve performance of the apparatus.
CONSTITUTION: Thickness of blade is reduced gradually from inlet 2c' of hydraulic oil toward outlet 2c". Such a blade is used for turbine runner in which sectional area of the passage of hydraulic oil is reduced gradually toward outlet of hydraulic oil. On the other hand, for turbine runner in which sectional area of the passage of hydraulic oil is small at the inlet and increased gradually toward the outlet, a blade whose thickness is largest at its outlet 2c" and reduced gradually toward its inlet 2c is used. With such an arrangement, sectional area of passage of hydraulic oil can be made substantially constant along the entire length of the oil passage, so that it is enabled to minimize flow loss of hydraulic oil without causing any adverse influence and thus to improve performance of the apparatus.
