Abstract

PURPOSE: To dehydrate org. matter-contg. sludge without injecting a chemical soln. by mixing 10W80wt% of sludge formed by aerobic treatment into digested sludge formed by anaerobic treatment followed by freeze-melting.
CONSTITUTION: Night soil charged into storage tank 2 enters digestion vessel 3, where it is anaerobically treated, and part of sludge is settled, fed to centrifugal dehydrator 9 as digested sludge 31, dehydrated, and discharged as dehydrated digested sludge. Water separated from vessel 3 is fed to dilution regulation vessel 5, diluted with water 4, fed to aeration tank 6, aerobically treated, and fed to settling tank 7. Part of sludge settled in tank 7 is returned to vessel 5 as return sludge 71. Part of sludge 31 and excess sludge are mixed in sludge mixing vessel 16 and fed to freeze-melting dehydrator 17, where the mixed sludge is freeze-melted to make the particles large, dehydrated, and taken out as dehydrated mixed sludge 21.
