Abstract

PURPOSE: To effectively cool the inside and outside of an electric motor, by providing the motor with a fitting flange which serves also as a hood which communicates with cooling air blowoff ports to conduct cooling air along the peripheral part of a casing.
CONSTITUTION: Radial grooves 4 are provided on the fitting flange 20 for mounting the motor on a member 10. The cooling air is conducted into the motor through the holes 5 of an end plate 3. The height of the fitting flange 20 is made so large that the flange serves also as the hood 21. The flow F of the air is oriented along the peripheral part of the casing 1 by outlet ports 22 connected to the air blowoff ports 6 provided in the end part of the casing 1. The inside and outside of the motor are thus cooled. This results in raising the cooling effect.
