Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent scale deposition in the exhaust gas system and dust collecting water system of steel making furnaces such as convertors, etc. by dosing one or both of alkali salts and P-contained compounds into the circulating dust collecting water of both systems, specifying dissolved salt balance (total hardness/HCO3 -) and PO4 3- amount and modifying water quality to high HCO3 - contained water.
CONSTITUTION: The exhaust gas of a convertor 1 passes through an indirect cooling part 3 and is subjected to water washing and dust collecting in primary and secondary dust collectors 4 and 5, after which it is exhausted by an induction fan 6. On the other hand, the dust-collected water laden with dust from the dust collector 4 is removed of suspended matter, thence it enters a water tank 10 and is supplied to a pump 11 to the dust collector 5. The dust-laden waste water from the dust collector 5 goes through a seal pot 13 and is circulated to the dust collector 4 by a pump 14. Here, one or more kinds of alkali salts such as Na2CO3, etc. or P-contained compounds (H3PO4, etc.) are dosed into the circulating dust-collecting water to modify the water quality so that the dissolved salt balance (total hardness/HCO3 -) becomes less than 0.2 and PO4 3-≥1 ppm.
