Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of brazing defects such as decreased rates of bonding areas, etc. by feeding high temperature reducing gas or inert gas from one of the spacings between joints.
CONSTITUTION: Reducing or inert gas current above the joint temperature during brazing is fed through one of the spacing between the joints of a base metal 1. Then, the central portions of the inside surfaces of the inter-joint spacings are cleaned and the braze 4 being supplied from the opposite side of the inter-joint spacings is preferentially spread in the clean area 9 in the central part. Hence, even with large size joints, the occurrence of such a defect as to lower the rate of bonding areas is effectively prevented.
