Abstract

PURPOSE: A deoxidizing agent adapted for preserving foodstuff, furs, clothing, and so forth consists of stone power containing adsorbed aqueous hydrochloric solution, cast iron powder including specific amount of carbon, iron chloride, etc.
CONSTITUTION: Deoxidizing agent powder is provided by mixing one to 10 wt% of stone powder suce as talk, siras, etc containing one wt% of adsorbed hydrochloric acid in concentration of 1 to 10%, together with a small amount of acitive carbon for deodorization and 2.5 to 10 parts of cast iron powder that include 3.5 to 4.5 wt% of carbon. Cast iron powder, if its carbon content is less than 3.5%, causes variations in the ability of deoxidation. For more effective deoxidation capability, the resulted powder can be added with iron chloride (either ferrous or ferric usable) in form of powser or solution together with hydrochloric acid to be adsorbed by stone powder. The product is easily mass produced and suited to foodstuff preservation as liquid exudation is not caused by deoxidation process.
