Abstract

PURPOSE: Suitable material for cutting tool, bearing, drawing die etc. having both abrasion resisting property and toughness, made by adding high melting point metal to cubic crystal boron nitride.
CONSTITUTION: Cubic crystal boron nitride. BN; 40W97 vol.%. one or more than two kinds of W, Mo, Ta, Ti, Nb; 30W60 vol.%.
EFFECT: The above material is possessed both abrasion resisting property based on BN and toughness brought about by high melting point metal, such as W, Mo, Ta, Ti, Nb. Accordingly, it is suitable for cutting high hardness steel or super alloy etc. and moreover, is suitable for manufacturing bearing or drawing die, because of having superior anticorrosive property.
