Abstract

PURPOSE: A stack gas purification apparatus in which a high temperature air is produced by utilizing the heat energy of stack gas to be treated and then the air is mixed with the stack gas subjected to purification treatment in order to prevent the occurrence of white smoke without using a combustor for reheating.
CONSTITUTION: The 200 to 300°C stack gas 21 from boiler, etc., is introduced into the heat exchanger 15 to lower its temperature to less than 150°C by heat- exchanging it with the air 12 supplied from the fan 14, and then the stack gas 21 from the heat exchanger is introduced into the mixer 4 where it is mixed with O3 supplied continuously from the O3 generator 1 to oxidize NO to NO2 immediately. And, the treated stack gas 22 is sent to the washing tower 5 where NOx, SO2, etc. present are removed by the absorbing liqour 34 supplied and then passed through the demister 3 and the mist eliminator 6 to remove water droplets present in the treated stack gas. After removing the water droplets, the treated stack gas 24 is introduced into the air mixer 9 where to mixed with the air 13 supplid after heat exchanging 15 to drop its dew point and then released from the stack 10 to the outside as the treated stack gas 25.
