Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the responsiveness of an aperture plate by comparing the resistance value of a sensor and a reference resistance value when the decrease in exposure is detected and immediately driving a linear motor to drive the slit forming member directly coupled thereto. CONSTITUTION:When a print button is pushed and a photosensitive drum 5 and original platen 6 move respectively in the arrow direction in synchronization, the original images are radiated onto the photosensitive drum 5 by a lens 7 and the light reflected by the reference white part 8 of the original platen 6 enters a sensor 13. The resistance value of the sensor 13 is detected with an illuminance detecting circuit 14 and is compared with the set value 16 of the preset reference resistance value in a comparator 15. When the resistance value having been detected is smaller than the reference resistance value, i.e., illuminance is small, the comparator 15 emits a signal to a motor driving circuit 17 which in turn drives a linear motor 12 in the direction of the arrow a for expanding the spacing between a stationary aperture plate 10 and moving aperture plate 11.
