Abstract
PURPOSE: To stabilize the contrast and density of record by detecting the reference image potential and original texture potential of a photoreceptor surface and by finding a development bias voltage by prescribed arithmetic wherein the reference image potential and original texture potential are regarded as variables.
CONSTITUTION: At the scanning position between the stand-by position of lighting lamp 2 and reflex mirror 31 and the original picture area of contact glass plate 1, reference image pattern 13 is positioned and its pattern image is projected on the surface of drum 4 before an original picture is projected. Potential sensor head 14 is installed right behind the exposure position of drum 4 and potentials of the reference image and original texture detected there are amplified and waveform-processed by potential processing circuit 15 and then applied to bias arithmetic circuit 16. Then, detection timing control and arithmetic are exercised to generate a development bias indication signal, which is supplied as a control signal to variable bias power source 17. Thus, record of stable contrast and density can be obtained.
