Abstract

PURPOSE:To prepare nourishing cream which gives nutrition to the skin and is effective to pimples, freckles, etc., by pulverizing naturally grown water oat into fine powders by a specific process, and mixing the powders with oils and fats emulsified with water in the presence of an emulsifying agent. CONSTITUTION:The water oat naturally grown in a marsh is semidried, cut to a proper size, washed with water, steamed in a stesming kettle (e.g. a basket steamer) at about 100 deg.C for about 30min, and allowed to cool. After cooling, it is put into a box having ventilation holes, and stored in a closed chamber at about 50 deg.C for about 15 days to effect the fermentation. The fermentation product is completely dried in the sun, and pulverized to fine powders. The powdery water oat thus obtained is mixed with oils and fats emulsified with water using an emulsifying agent to obtain the objective dark green nourishing cream. The various nutritious components and vitamins which are known components of the water oat, are made to be highly absorbable by fermenting the water oat.
