Abstract

PURPOSE: To expedite the turn of a hull and prevent the rolling thereof by a method wherein a sucking port on the side of the hull and a jetting port at the stern, communicated with each other by a pipe, are provided symmetrically to both sides and the balance of the jetting-out energy of water is adjusted by a propelling means provided in the above pipe.

CONSTITUTION: When the fuel is exploded and burnt in the combustion chambers 9a and 9a' of the explosion device 9 of a propelling means, the pressure produced in the chambers makes the water in the chambers jet out of the jetting ports 7 and 7' at the stern 2b through tubes 9b and 9b' and pipes 5 and 5' and a vessel 2 advances by the reaction thereto. When a water stream is produced in the pipes 5 and 5' and the water flows in from the sucking ports 6 and 6', jetting out from jetting ports 7 and 7' through the pipes 5 and 5'. When the fuel is exploded continuously, the above water stream does not cease and thus the vessel 2 advances. When the vessel turns, the output of the explosion devices 9 and 9' an the side in the turning direction is reduced and the energy of the water jetting out from the jetting ports 7 and 7' is adjusted, thereby the vessel is turned in that direction.
