Abstract
PURPOSE: To surely hold the material for the extrusion work, by fitting plural clamping elements arranged into ring shape combination to the holding element possessing the taper hole, and by installing the flange, fittable to the end face of the material, in the downside of the holding element.
CONSTITUTION: The round disk type bottom plate 6 is put on the bolster 4 in the hole 5. The holding element 8 is put on this bottom plate 6 so as to form the taper hole 9, and the center of the taper hole 9 is aligned on the extension of the axis line of the working hole 2 of the extrusion die 1. In the taper hole 9, plural material- clamping elements 17, being mutually combined to form the ring, are installed. These clamping elements 17 are mutually combined and are fitted to the taper hole 9 so as to form the material holding hole 18 at the center, and to form the flange 20 fittable to the end face of the material W at the lower side. The extrusion die 1 is moved down so as to contact the lower end of the material W with the flange 20. The die 1 is further moved down to complete the specified extrusion work. By pulling up the die 1, the clamping elements 17 are lifted to contact with the top cover 11 by the force of the spring 22.
