Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the depth of drawing shallow and to save the material consumption, by installing a fixed die face and a movable die face on an upper die.

CONSTITUTION: After setting a material 12 on the uppper surface of a blank holder 7, an upper die 5 is moved down so as to hold the material 12 by a movable die face 9 having point a₂. Next, by successive downward movement of the die 5; the bottom end b₂ of the die 5 contacts with the material 12; and finally a fixed die face 5a coincides with the movable die face 9. A preparative forming of the material 12 is performed during the processing from the material holding to the coincidence of the die faces 5a and 9. By further downward movement of the die 5; the drawing work is performed accompanied with the downward movement of cushion pins 8. Thus, the material 12 is already held when the point b₂ contacts with the material 12, by allowing the point a₂ movable and by keeping the relation A₂>B₂ at the beginning of holding the material; and the relation C₂≤B₂ is kept at the moment of the completion of the drawing work, because of the result that the die face 9 moves upward relatively to the upper die; accordingly, the necessary depth of drawing can be made smaller, and that causes the saving of materials.
