Abstract

PURPOSE:To minimize the quantity of a machining liquid supplied into a machining vessel, by keeping almost constant the quantity of a machining liquid flowing out of the machining vessel and by making the quantity much less than those in conventional machines. CONSTITUTION:A machining vessel 12 is secured on a pedestal 10. A workpiece 20 is set in the vessel 12. A machining liquid receiver 60 is provided with a through hole 62 for the play of a wire electrode 30 laid between an upper and a lower electrode guides 34, 36. The through hole 62 has a larger diameter than the wire electrode 30 and is concentric therewith. The quantity of a machining liquid flowing out through the small gap between the receiver 60 and the bottom plate 16 of the vessel 12 is much less than that of a machining liquid flowing out through a release hole 32 which would be provided in a support plate 18 for supporting a workpiece 20 in a canventional machine and have a shape almost identical with the machined form of the workpiece. This results in minimizing the quantity of a machining liquid supplied into the machining vessel.
