Abstract

PURPOSE: To bury the unevenness on the mold surface, smooth the casting surface and improve product value by further forming a resin sand layer to the conventional mold comprising forming a dry sand layer and mixed sand layer within a cylindrical metal flask.
CONSTITUTION: Annular molds are fitted into both ends of a cylindrical metal flask 3 and the mold length is determined, after which the metal flask 3 is heated to 300W400°C and is rotated at a high speed. Next, dry sand of 20W60 mesh is supplied to this and is compression-bonded in the metal flask 3 by centrifugal force, whereby the 1st dry sand layer 5 is formed. Thence, the mixed sand comprising by mixing thermosetting resin in the dry sand of 20W60 mesh is supplied and is heat- set to form the 2nd mixed sand layer 6. Thereafter, the rotating speed of the metal flask 3 is lowered to 0.1W3G and the resin sand composed of the fine particle sand peaking at sand particle distributions 200W230 and thermosetting resin is supplied thereto. The resin sand is then slipped on the 1st layer 5 or the 2nd layer 6 so as to bury the unevenness on the surface and is heat-set, whereby the resin sand layer 7 is formed.
