Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve productivity of grid and electrode plate and improve discharge characteristics at a high rate discharge by arranging an unexpandable band- shaped lead plate part on one side of a band-shaped expandable grid and uniting integrally the electrode plates having the same polarity on the band-shaped lead plate part. CONSTITUTION:The expandable grid metal is constituted of an unexpandable band-shaped lead plate part 2 and a band-shaped expandable part 4, and a paste- state active substance is filled in the expandable grid, forming positive electrode plate 5 and negative electrode plate 6. The positive electrode plate 5, negative electrode plate 6, and separator 7 are alternately superposed, forming an electrode plate group. The electrode plates having the same polarity in the electrode plate group are perfectly welded at the side part of the band-shaped lead plate part 2, and on a part of the electrode plate, connection bodies 8 and 8' are arranged.
