Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the amount of residues, e.g., water, oils and fats, metals, etc., in furnace by maintaining the inner walls of a vacuum furnace whose inner walls are provided with a head-insulating plate reflecting radiant heat at a specific temperature. CONSTITUTION:The furnace wall 2 consisting of a cladding material is provided with the plural plates 1 of stainless steel, etc., having a high heat resistance and a high reflecting action, and the furnace body 10 is heated to 100-500 deg.C by means of the heater 16. When the furnace wall 2 is heated to more than a given temperature, it is detected by the temperature sensor 5, and the air-requlating valves 7a and 7b are opened by the valve driving device 11 operating on the deviation from set value to supply the open air to the path 4 on the periphery of the furnace wall 4. By maintaining the temperature of the furnace wall 2 at that temperature, residues, e.g., water, oils, fats, etc., coming in when materials to be treated are delivered into the furnace can be vaporized exponential-functionally and therefore the evacuating time for the furnace can be shortened and attainable vacuum degree can be raised.
