Abstract

PURPOSE: As modifiers, are used an isomerized α-pinene-phenol adduct, PPG derivative and PEG derivative together to produce a novel plasticization-modified phenolic resin giving laminates free from bulge and delamination on punching.
CONSTITUTION: As a modifier, is employed a combinstion of (A) an isomerized α-pinene-phenol adduct such as a compound of formula I or II, (B) a polypropylene glycol (PPG) derivative such as a compound of formula III (n is 8W12) and (C) a polyethylene glycol (PEG) derivative bearing phenyl groups on the terminals such as a compound of formula V (R1 and R2 are formula V; m is 7W12) and they are added to the reaction system for the synthesis of phenolic resin. At least one among the modifiers is preferably a reaction product with an aldehyde. The amount of component A used is 10W40g per mole of the phenol, B/C is 0.6W0.8 and the total amount of the theree modifiers is preferably 110W140g.
EFFECT: High-frequency characteristics, especially dielectric constant, increase.
