Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of a photo switch, by using a transparent bar body in which are buried spherical lenses having reflecting film. CONSTITUTION:Two spherical lenses 9 and 10 of which refractive index is larger than that of a transparent cylindrical bar body 8, having reflecting films 11 provided in the position on bisected surface, are buried in the rotating bar body 8. The lens center is set on the central axis of the bar body 8, and the reflecting film 11 is inclined by 45 deg. with respect to the central axis of the central body of the bar body. Optical fibers 12 and 13, and 14 and 15 are provided on a straight line across the bar body 8, respectively, and their center line runs through the center of the spehrical lenses 9, 10, being disposed at a slight gap to the bar body. The operation of this photo switch is expressed by an equivalent circuit (a) when the bar body 8 is situated in the position shown in the drawing, and by (b) when the bar body 8 is rotated 90 deg., and by (c) when further rotated 90 deg.. Thus, the light can be changed over successively.
