Abstract

CONSTITUTION: In the preparation of acrolein by the reaction of propylene with molecular oxygen in the vapor phase at high temperature in the prescence of a catalyst, a substance having the composition of formula (X is Ca or Zn, aWh show the number of atoms, and when b is 1, a is 5W20, C is 0.2W5, d is 1W10, e and f are 0.01W2, g is 0.01W1 and h is the number decided spontaneously) is used as the catalyst. This catalyst is easily prepared by a known preparation method of oxidation catalysts, using compounds containing constituent elements (e.g. oxides, salts) as a starting material, and calcined at 400W800°C for 1W20hr at the last step.
EFFECT: Use of a carrier is not necessarily required, and high activity can be maintained for a long time.
