Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent generation of abnormal sound in an oil hydraulic buffer for the suspension of a vehicle such as an motorbicycle by providing a disc valve which is opened and closed in accordance with the direction of movement of a piston with oil holes and providing the valve with a close contact prevention serration. CONSTITUTION:A valve sheat 13 is provided with a number of radially spaced peripheral notches 21. When the compression stroke of this oil hydraulic buffer is changed to the extension stroke, a negative pressure is produced within the inner cylinder 2, so that a check valve 16 and a disc valve 14 are upwardly displaced in the Figure against the spring force of a spring 20 to open an oil port 8. At this time, if the valve 14 and seat 13 are brought into contact over a wide area, even very fine gaps between the two surfaces in close contact are filled with oil, so that they will not be readily separated. Since the area of close contact is reduced by the provision of the serration, the attracting force is reduced, and thus with an increase of the negative pressure within the inner cylinder 2 beyond the spring force of the spring 20 the valve 14 is immediately separated from the seat 13 and raised at a slow speed by compressing the spring 20. Thus, it is prevented from striking a stepped portion 23 with a great momentum. In this way, abnormal sound can be prevented.
