Abstract

PURPOSE: To efficiently collect sooty dust while directly treating high-temperature combustion waste gas without cooling it by using a porous bottomed cylindrical body formed from refractory particles having specified average pore size and pore volume.
CONSTITUTION: Refractory particles 2 of silica sand or silicon carbide having specially arranged grain size are formed into a porous, bottom-having cylindrical body 1, using refractory binder such as water glass or frit, etc. The body 1 is formed to have many pores connected from outside to indide surfaces. Separation wall 4a near open end 3 is formed into an annular thick wall section 5 having wall thickness thicker than other separation wall 4b. The cylindrical body 1 is to have average pore size of 20W150μ, preferably 30W60μ, and pore volume of 0.10W0.50cc/g, preferably 0.15W0.25cc/g. When using, the cylinder body 1 is held at the thick wall section 5 and suspended in waste gas, allowing high temperature combusted waste g as to pass from the outside to the inside through fine pores in the seperation wall 4b. In this way, smoky dust in waste gas is collected and removed on the outer surface of the ceramic filter, and finer dust is collected and removed during passing through fine pores.
