Abstract
PURPOSE: To decrease a width of sliding faces of the bearing and reduce a torque of friction loss of the engine, by forming first oil grooves extensibly provided circumferentially at both end parts axially of the sliding face of the connecting rod bearing and constructing a second oil groove at the position of an oil feed hole opening part of the sliding face.
CONSTITUTION: A both end parts axially of sliding faces 23 on the inner surface of a connecting rod bearing 21, first oil grooves 25 circumferentially extended except central parts 23a in its axial direction are provided in the dimension of a prescribed width and depth. While at the time of assembly of the connecting rod, a second oil groove 27 that passes the portion of an opening of the oil feed hole drilled in the crankshaft on the sliding face 23 is circumferentially constructed in the dimension of a prescribed width and depth. When the engine is in operation, the lubricating oil passes an oil hole 35 and lubricating oil passage 37 formed in a main bearing 31 portion of the crankshaft 41 to be fed to the second oil groove 27 from an oil feed hole 39 formed in a crank pin 43 portion provided in the connecting rod bearing 21 finally from the second oil groove 27 to the sliding faces located at its both sides.
