Abstract

PURPOSE: To accurately measure the quantity of deformation of a sample in a specific atmosphere by applying a pressure and temperature under specific conditions to the interior of a sample and detecting the deformation of the sample by a displacement detector provided at the outside.
CONSTITUTION: In the drawing there is illustrated an example of a pressure resistance test of a metal pipe under atmosphere filled with a corrosive gas having a temperature in the order of 120°C and a pressure of less than the atmospheric pressure. A pressing device 3 is fitted through an O-ring 2 in the sample of a metal pipe 1, and the outer peripheral part of a peripheral groove 3a is hermetically sealed to the outside by means of a sealant 4. When a pressure fluid is caused to flow into the device through a flow path 3b, the internal local part of the sample 1 is pressed. A displacement detector 5 and a protective material 6 are made of a material having a temperature expansion coefficient close to zero, and is brought into abutment with the sample 1 being supported by an arm 3c and placed in a chamber 7 of an atmosphere of specific conditions. The deformation of the sample 1 of the metal pipe can be measured by a displacement measuring device 12 placed at a position interrupting the atmosphere by bellows 14 and 37 through a bar 5.
