Abstract
PURPOSE:To facilitate the measurement of the average temperature, by enclosing noncompressible liquid in a thin metal temperature measuring pipe which has a length corresponding to a material to be measured and low thermal conducting property, and filling the pipe with a convection preventing material having low thermal expansion rate. CONSTITUTION:The temperature measuring pipe 1, which is the thin metal pipe having the length corresponding to the material to be measured, is made of a material whose thermal conductivity in the longitudinal direction is low, e.g. a stainless pipe. The pipe is filled with the convection preventing material whose thermal expansion is low such as ceramic particles or glass fiber 3. The gap between the temperature measuring pipe 1 and the convection preventing agent 2 or 3 is filled with the noncompressible liquid or inactive gas 4. When said temperature measuring pipe is connected to a well known temperature indicating part 4 having a Bourdon tube and a pointer 7, the average temperature of the material to be measured can be measured.
