Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve reliability and measurement precision both by generating angle signals of even intervals corresponding to the rise and fall of a photo-detection signal, by providing slits at an interval ratio of 1:1 on the entire circumference centering on a rotation axis.
CONSTITUTION: Light emitting diode 3 and photo diode 5 are provided which oppose to each other with rotary disk 2, fixed to a rotation axis, between. Rotary disk 2 is provided with slits at the entire circumference and the interval ratio of slit 1 to the adjacent is 1:1. An emitter current flowing through photo detection is amplified by operational amplifier 6 and applied to differentiating circuit 8 in parallel to a signal inverted by inverter 7, thereby outputting the rise and fall of it through OR circuit 10. Thus, the width and interval of slit 1 can be widened to take a measurement with high precision. Additionally, the precision can be improved by an electric adjustment.
