Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to perform high-speed operation by providing a driving cam consisting of two cams fixed to the driving shaft in parallel and a follower having two parallel surfaces of contact which are in contact with the corresponding cams at all times, and thereby making it possible to obtain a large angle of rest.
CONSTITUTION: Integrated No.1 cam 2 and No.2 cam 3 are fixed to drive shaft 1. Follower 6 is supported by supporting shaft 5 so that it can move, and its movement is transmitted to the member to be moved via a linking rod. Follower 6 is provided with two parallel surfaces of contact 7 and 8, which are in contact with No.1 cam 2 and No.2 cam 3 respectively at all times, and these surfaces of contact 7 and 8 are deviated in the axial direction of drive shaft 1. These two cams 2 and 3 consist of four smoothly connected arcs respectively. The center of one arc is matched with the center of drive shaft 1, and the central angle opposite the arc determines the angle of rest. Consequently, it is possible to take a large angle of rest, and at the same time, the operation of the follower is made very smooth and high- speed operation can be achieved without trouble.
