Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the response speed of gauge fluctuation detection and realize accurate gauge control, by controlling the peripheral speeds of both rolls so that the rolling load may coincide with the set rolling load, when rolling at different peripheral peeds of upper and lower work rolls. CONSTITUTION:A plate material 3 from a let-off machine 4 is rolled by a rolling mill 6, and wound on a coiler 8. An upper work roll 1 is driven by a motor 10, and the peripheral speed of the motor 10 is detected by a speed detector 11, and is controlled to the upper work roll set peripheral speed V0i by means of a speed adjusting device 12. On the other hand a lower work roll 2 is driven by a motor 13, which is controlled to the lower work roll set peripheral speed V1i by means of speed detector 14 and speed adjusting device 15. The set gauge in a gauge setting device 16 is converted into a set rolling load P0 by a load setting device 17, and the deviation between this load and rolling load P detected by a load cell 18 is calculated in a substractor 19. An operator 20 proportionally integrates the deviation signal. According to this result, the set peripheral speeds of both rolls V0i, V1i are operated.
