Abstract
PURPOSE:To widely suppress an aberration of the lens and enable a beam spot to be made small in diameter, by setting a virtual object point of the electron beam incident upon a decelerating bipotential lens to a specific position. CONSTITUTION:On a central axis S of the electron gun, are arranged a cathode K and the first grid 1-sixth grid 6. The third grid 3-sixth grid 6 are constituting a front stage focusing lens Lf in the rear stage of which a focusing lens L is arranged. An accelerating bipotential lens is constructed by a first accelerating bipotential lens constituted by between the third grid 3 and the fourth grid 4 and the second accelerating bipotential lens constituted by between the fifth grid 5 and the sixth grid 6. A virtual object point of the electron beam incident upon a decelerating bipotential lens is set to a position of (focal length at object side)-(focal length at image side).
