Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable stable working without direct observation of plasma generating state by directly detecting the plasma amount generated from a laser light radiation working part by electric signal and controlling the output energy of a laeser oscillator by this signal. CONSTITUTION:Laser light 2 out from a laser oscillator 1 is condensed to the work 6 by a condenser lens 3, whereby working such as welding or cutting is accomplished. At this working, plasma 8 and molten flying matter are produced from the working part. An assist gas feed nozzle 5 is disposed between the lens 3 and work 6 and the nozzle 5 and work 6 are electrically connected to a detector 9 to detect the current (voltage) of the plasma 8. With this as the information on the working state, the output of the laser light 2 is controlled by an energy controller 10.
