Abstract

PURPOSE:To inhibit rotation of crank shaft, by fixing a ring gear formed on flywheel connected to the crank shaft by means of a holding member inserted through a hole formed in the housing. CONSTITUTION:Rotation of flywheel 5 is inhibited by threading bolt 18 into threaded hole 17 formed in housing 8 and bringing the top of bolt 18 into a trough formed between adjacent teeth of ring gear 6 formed on flywheel 5. Since, in this state, rotation of crank shaft 4 is inhibited, rotation of cam shafts 14, intermediate shaft 15, oil pump 16 and other rotatable elements is also inhibited, so that exchanging of parts and positional adjustment in respect of their turning angle can be accomplished with ease.
