Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform an effective operation of lubrication in an engine where balancer shafts are provided in front and rear positions of its crankshaft and allowed to make an interlocking motion to the crankshaft, by providing a shaft hole in the balancer shaft and transverse holes in the shaft hole and spraying lubricating oil from the transverse holes tospeed change gears through the shaft hole.
CONSTITUTION: In a balancer shaft 3 at the top rear side of speed change gears 6 equipped to the rear of a crankshaft 1 in an engine case 5, a shaft hole 9 is provided, and in the shaft hole 9 transverse holes 10 drilled through to its sideward are respectively provided with their alignment to each position of the speed change gears 6, and the inlet port of the shaft hole 9 is linked to a lubricating oil line 11. When an engine is operated, its lubricating oil also flows in the lubricating oil line 11, flows in the shaft hole 9 and is delivered from the transverse holes 10 and equally splashed to the speed change gears 6 by the rotating motion of the balancer shaft 3, thus causing the speed change gears 6 to be fully lubricated.
