Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent noise and vibration to be produced when a brake shoe comes in linear contact with a rim by a method wherein part of the rear end of the brake shoe is removed and the brake surface of the rear end is bent in the reverse direction against the rim when the brakes are applied.
CONSTITUTION: A brake shoe body 5 is mounted along the extended direction of a rim. Here, a drain groove 12 is formed to the left side as illustrated from the center line 11 of the brake surface 7 and a groove 13 deeper than the drain groove 12 is formed in the central part. Close to the rear end of the main body 5 is formed an equilateral triangle hole 14 and one vertex 14a of this hole 14 is located so that it may face the front end side of the main body 5. Accordingly, through the main body 5 becomes oblique by some cause, the rear end 10 is bent in the reverse direction against the rim 6 because there is the hole 14 when the rear end comes in contact with the rim 6 and so the rear end 10 comes in surface contact C with the rim 6. Accordingly, the linear contact by the front end alone can be avoided to realize the intended purpose.
