Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an oscillator featuring a high frequency stability by compounding the output of two units of the microwave phase control type oscillators which can modulate the frequency and receive the phase control via one unit of the crystal oscillator. CONSTITUTION:The output of crystal oscillator 1 is applied to 1st phase control oscillator A consisting of voltage control oscillator 5, divider 6, phase comparator circuit 7 and amplifier circuit 8 each as well as to the 2nd phase control oscillator B of the same constitution as oscillator A via branching unit 2 plus dividers 3 and 4 each and in the form of the reference input signal. Oscillators A and B feature the sufficiently narrow band width of the phase control loop and give the FM modulation to the signals passed through branching unit 18. Phase comparator 13 feeds the phase difference of oscillators 5 and 9 back to oscillator 9 via amplifier 14. The sufficiently wide band width is secured for the phase control loop including amplifier 14, phase comparator 13 and oscillator 9 each, and the DC gain is set high enough. The output of oscillators 5 and 9 thus controlled are delivered via compounding circuit 15.
