Abstract
PURPOSE: To minimize deviation of air-fuel ratio, by brnaching a primary intake passage at a position thereof located between a main throttle valve and a control valve, providing a subsidiary intake passage which joins again with the primary intake passage at a position near the intake valve, and thereby preventing adhesion of fuel to the wall surface of intake passage.
CONSTITUTION: Main carburetor 7 has main throttle valve 7 and control valve 9 in a first intake passage 6, whereas subsidiary carburetor 12 has a subsidiary throttle valve 13 in a second intake passage 11. The subsidiary throttle valve 13 is connected via shaft 14 to control valve 9, which is in turn connected to main throttle valve 8 via a lost motion mechanism so that it follows motion of the main throttle valve 8. In the first intake passage 6, there is provided a subsidiary intake passage 21 branched from a portion of the passage 6 between main throttle valve 8 and control valve 9, so that it is connected at its downstream portion to cylinders via branch passage 23 formed in spacer 22. Further, at a portion of intake passages 6, 11 near intake valve 25 of each cylinder, there is provided an orifice 26 which is directed toward a position in combustion chamber 4 displaced side wise from the axis of cylinder, and recirculated exhaust gas controlled by an "exhaust-gas recirculation" controlling valve 27 is delivered to the orifice 26 via exhaust-gas recirculating passage 30.
