Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a high-precision wire-cut and taper working method by measuring the upper and lower guide spans with high precision with a reference block being contacted with wire electrode. CONSTITUTION:The verticality of a wire electrode 1 is set by a vertical portion (with a height of b1) of a reference block 18. Then the wire electrode 1 is separated from the reference block 18 while maintaining its vertical position and the upper guide 6 is moved by a distance a3i toward the reference block 18. Then the distance of the lower guide from a point E upon contact of the wire electrode 1 with the higher side of a contact piece 19 is measured by a vertical portion (with a height of b2) of the reference block 18. It is possible to determine the actual upper and lower guide spans at a predetermined angle with high precision by using the results of the said measurements.
