Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase both critical temperature and critical current density by filling powder which is obtained by crushing a calcinated or fired oxide superconducting material inside a metal outer tube having high electrical conductivity, and drawing it so that the density of charged powder becomes 5.0g/cm<3> or more. CONSTITUTION:Powder which is obtained by crushing a calcinated or fired oxide superconducting material is charged inside metal outer tube having high electrical conductivity before a drawing process is subjected thereto so that the density of the charged powder becomes 5.0g/cm<3> or more. The critical current density Jc increases rapidly when the density rho of the charged powder after the application of drawing process exceeds 3.0-4.0g/cm<3>, the critical current density Jc becomes 10<2>A/cm<2> when the density of the powder is 5.0g/cm<3>, and the density Jc increases further when the density of the powder still increases. In this way it is possible to obtain a superconducting wire material in which both critical temperature Tc and critical current density Jc are respectively high and large.
