Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a friction disc type clutch which can assuredly impart the engine torque by constituting same such that the frictional engaging force is increased in response to an increase of the engine torque.
CONSTITUTION: When the engine torque is zero, a sleeve 60 is in its retracted position by urging forces of a resilient member 80 and a spring 24, and a pin 52 mounted on a casing 50 is engaged with a ringhtmost portion of a cam face of an arcuate cam slot 63. When torque is imparted to the casing 50 and the pin 52 and in increased, the pin 52 travels along the cam face of the cam slot 63 to a position shown in phantom. In the meantime, the sleeve 60 is moved rightwardly against the urging forces of the resilient member 80 and the spring 24 to push a spring receiver 23 thereby to increase the pressing force against a clutch plate 22 and a friction disc 32.
