Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a light transmission control member having substantialy no leads by connecting plural concentrical strip form transparent electrode end parts provided on a substrate by providing electrical resistance differences thereby forming the electro-optic effect element.
CONSTITUTION: The transparent electrode layer 5 on the top is formed to a specific shape by using the solid type electrochromic formed by laminating a transparent electrode layer 2, colored layer 3, ion conductive insulating layer 4 and transparent electrode layer 5 on a substrate 1. More specifically, concentrical strip-form trnasparent electrodes A, B, C, D which are cut in a radial direction and are mutually spaced in a circumferential direction are formed. The end part of A is connected to the end part of B at the gate part GAB and for the rest, the B and C end parts are connected at the gate part GGC and the C and D end parts at the gate part GCD. In the above constitution, suitable voltages are applied stepwise to a lead-out terminal (a) to begin coloring from only the A portion and subsequently and progressively extend the coloring from the A portion up to the D portion, thereby arbitrarily controlling the quantity of transmission light.
